National Award-winning Marathi director Sameer Vidwans tied the knot with his long-time lover and assistant director Juilee Sonalkar on February 14. The actor and director announced his marriage to his fans after sharing the wedding photos on his Instagram handle.
The couple opted for an intimate Marathi-style wedding, away from the limelight, while celebrating their union. The director shot to fame in Bollywood with the movie Satyaprem Ki Katha. His Bollywood directorial debut starred Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The movie was a super hit at the box office.
In the viral post, actor and director Sameer is seen wearing a sherwani while his wife, Juilee Sonalkar, donned a cream saree complemented with a backless blouse. The snap appears to be from the wedding venue. In the background, the stage could be seen where the couple might have completed their wedding ceremonies. “We decided on forever” was inscribed on the stage, as shown in the photo. Sameer Vidwans captioned the photo, “Hitched,” while announcing his wedding.

Even though the wedding ceremony happened among the director’s close friends, the comments section of the post saw the participation of several Marathi and Bollywood actors. Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani congratulated the couple on their marriage and wished them luck in their married lives. Sameer Vidwans thanked the actors for their wishes.
Sameer Vidwans and Juilee Sonalkar have been working together for several years. She served as an assistant director in the movies helmed by Sameer. Their creative journey began when they first worked together on the critically acclaimed 2017 film Mala Kahich Problem Nahi. She also served as a pivotal member of his team for the National Award-winning film Anandi Gopal in 2019. Sammer Vidwans made his directorial debut with the Marathi film, Time Please. He garnered headlines as a director after his movie Anandi Gopal won the National Award. It stars Bhagyashree Milind and Lalit Prabhakar in the lead roles.
