Actor Rishab Shetty, the mastermind behind the blockbuster Kantara, has appeared in the promo of the newly-launched serial titled Annayya. He is seen telling the story of the serial. The serial started streaming on August 12 at 7.30 pm on Zee Kannada. In the clip, Shetty introduced the characters in the serial. The promo video depicted a few scenes of the lead characters and also a glimpse of their teenage years. The official handle of Zee Kannada shared the promo video on its Instagram handle. The caption of the post read, “Shiva-Parvati love story. Kadubettu Shivanna is very sad! ‘Annayya’ | Today at 7:30 pm.” The video went viral and garnered several likes and comments. Many users also dropped heart and fire emojis in the comment section.
Annayya airs from Monday to Friday on Zee Kannada at 7.30 pm. Actor Pramod Shetty and his wife, Supreeta Shetty, have bankrolled the serial. The serial stars Vikash, Nisha Ravikrishnan, Nagashree, Raghavi, Sushmith Jain, Nagendra Shah, Madhumathi, Dhananjay, and Shwetha. The serial is directed by Uttam Madhu. The serial is a story of a brother-sister relationship.
Rishab Shetty is currently occupied shooting for the Kantara prequel. Helmed and headlined by Rishab himself, the film is expected to be released in December 2024. The project was announced earlier this year during Amazon Prime Video’s event in Mumbai.
Recently, in an interview, he delved into the “success secret” of his blockbuster Kantara. He said, “Every success comes with responsibility, along with both positive and negative sides attached to it. It has given me better opportunities to work, better space for creativity along with the time.”
While speaking about his experience working on the highly anticipated prequel to Kantara, Kantara: Chapter 1, he said, “I had never worked on such a big scale. Also, I had not even worked as an AD. The scale is big not just in terms of film but story-wise and the character I am playing.”
Kantara was released on September 30, 2022. The film was directed and written by Rishab Shetty. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.
