Rashmika Mandanna Claims She Knew That Animal Would Spark Debate, Says 'I Am Really Happy...'
Rashmika Mandanna recently opened up about Animal receiving mixed reviews from audience and critics.

Rashmika Mandanna is currently basking on the success of her recently released film Animal. The actress shared screen space with Ranbir Kapoor for the same. While the film turned out to be a huge box office hit, it received mixed reviews from the audience and critics, with many calling out the film for showcasing toxic masculinity. Rashmika shared in a new interview that she had anticipated that Animal would spark ‘debate’ and’mixed conversations’.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actress shared, “We always knew that it would have mixed conversations, and honestly, I’m really happy about it because everyone’s opinion and perspectives are different.”

She further added, “You can’t tell everyone to think the same thing or expect everyone to think something in a certain way. People have their own opinions.” Expressing her satisfaction with the varied discussions spurred by the film, she further stated, “And I’m really glad that a film like Animal had different sorts of conversations happening. I was really happy about it, and I’m sure the team was too. You are not everyone’s cup of tea as an actor, but it’s always interesting to know what kind of tea they prefer.”

Animal revolves around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film shows Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, including gunning down 200 people with a machine gun. However, despite his efforts, he struggles to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). Animal has already crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at the Indian box office.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rashmika has a bundle of interesting projects lined up. She is all set to star opposite Vicky Kaushal in Chhaava, a historical drama about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. She also has Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule. She also has another untitled project with Dhanush and Nagarjuna Akkineni.

With rich content-driven and commercial films to her credit, Rashmika Mandanna has come a long way. Having proved her mettle both in Bollywood and in South Asia, she is now one of the most bankable stars in showbiz.
