On Valentine’s Day, Saanya Iyer Shares Special Poster For Her Upcoming Film Gowri

Kannada actress Saanya Iyer had a pleasant surprise for her fans this Valentine’s Day. Two special posters of the film Gowri, which stars her alongside Samarjit Lankesh, were unveiled. Both posters show Samarjit carrying Saanya on his shoulder while both beams at the camera. The poster wishes everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day. Gauri shared the poster from her social media handle with the caption, “Celebrating LOVE, a universal language, Team Gowri wishes you a Happy Valentine’s Day”. Saanya Iyer recently confirmed to the News18 team that the shooting of Gowri has been completed and the dubbing process is done too. She said that the film was in its post-production stage at the moment. Director Indrajit Lankesh is launching his son Samarjit with this movie. It was announced early last year that TV celebrity, journalist and director Indrajit Lankesh would be directing his son Samarjit Lankesh’s first feature film. According to reports, the project would be based on actual instances. Indrajit revealed the project name, Gauri, shortly after the previous year. Later, it was changed to Gowri and Saanya Iyer was cast as the major female character.

Considering that the project was initially named Gauri, initial speculations were that the movie would be based on the life of his deceased sister Gauri Lankesh, who was murdered by fundamentalists. The name, supposedly, was later changed to Gowri to put these speculations to rest. The makers did not issue any statement regarding the same.

The film’s poster also indicated it would feature action, romance and other themes, with the makers characterizing it as “message-oriented.” Samarjit Lankesh, who is making his debut would be seen in a tough action avatar. Gowri purports to be based on an actual event.
