Nandamuri Balakrishna has worked with many leading actresses throughout his career. However, he has never starred in a single film with one particular actress Sridevi. While Sridevi has acted alongside nearly all the major heroes, including senior stars and the likes of Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, and Nagarjuna, she has never appeared in a movie with Nandamuri Balakrishna. In a recent interview with News18, Nandamuri Balakrishna shared the reason behind this.
He mentioned that coincidentally, he never ended up working with Sridevi, despite her having done numerous films with his father, Senior NTR. Nandamuri Balakrishna explained that there wasn’t a specific reason for this, rather, it was simply that he felt no need to cast a major star like Sridevi in his films. He stated that, in terms of casting, he preferred not to hire big stars unless it was necessary for the role. Therefore, he concluded, this is why Sridevi was never cast in any of his films.
In another interview, Nandamuri Balakrishna shared how Sridevi learned acting. “Coming to the other acting skills, my father (Senior NTR) taught Sridevi and all by slapping on their buttocks and stamping on their feet. They used to dance with soft moves but since my father was rough he made them dance to his style by painting them to come out with new expressions. They learned acting that way”.
Besides, the Telugu film industry is preparing for a grand celebration to commemorate Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 50th anniversary in cinema. The event took place on September 1 at the Hitex Novotel Hotel in Hyderabad. The ceremony, arranged by members of the Telugu film industry, marks a significant milestone in the illustrious career of Balakrishna. Prominent figures from the Telugu Film Producers Council and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, including Secretary T Prasanna Kumar, President Bharat Bhushan, and producers KL Narayana, Gemini Kiran, Kommineni Venkateswara Rao, Alankar Prasad, and Raja Yadav, extended an invitation to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to grace the event.
