In today’s film industry, the line between small and big films is increasingly blurred. If a movie offers fresh and engaging content, even a smaller production can reach blockbuster status, rivalling larger films in success. A prime example of this trend is the movie Committee Kurrollu, which is making waves at the box office. Presented by Niharika Konidela, Committee Kurrollu was produced under the banners of Pink Elephant Pictures LLP and Sriradha Damodar Studios, with direction by Yadhu Vamsi. Released on August 9 in the Telugu states, the film has captivated audiences with its unique storyline and performances, showcasing how smaller films with compelling content can achieve widespread acclaim.
Committee Kurrollu not only received critical acclaim but also achieved impressive box office collections. Recently, the film was honoured with the Masterpiece of Telugu Cinema-2024 award, highlighting its impact on the industry. On its opening day, the movie grossed Rs 1.63 crores worldwide. Remarkably, it maintained momentum by collecting over Rs 1 crore per day for four consecutive days. By the end of its theatrical run, Committee Boys had emerged as a sensational success, grossing Rs 18 crores.
The film introduced 11 new heroes and four heroines to the Telugu film industry, alongside performances by senior actors. The audience widely appreciated the efforts of the makers in bringing such fresh talent to the forefront, contributing to the film’s overall success. When the film celebrated 50 successful days in theatres, the makers hosted a grand event to commemorate this achievement.
Director Yadhu Vamsi shared his thoughts on the success of Committee Kurollu, saying, “It’s rare to see a film run successfully for 50 days these days, especially a debut project like ours. We began this journey with faith in making a good film and the results have surpassed our expectations.” He credited the entire team of actors and technicians for their dedication and effort, noting that their collective hard work played an important role in the film’s success.
Vamsi gave special thanks to Niharika Konidela, stating, “I want to especially thank Niharika, who stood by us even when she was unwell, travelling with the team for ten days. Her belief in our talent and her guidance made all the difference.” He also acknowledged the support of Naga Babu, explaining, “After narrating the story to Naga Babu garu, his support helped propel the project forward.” He expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in bringing the project to life and contributing to its impressive achievements.
