Nayanthara Joins Yash's Toxic As Kareena Kapoor Walks Out? Here's What We Know

KGF star Yash’s upcoming movie Toxix has been making headlines for a long time now. If a recent report is to be believed, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan co-star Nayanthara is also likely to feature in the film. Reportedly, she has been approached for the role of a sister in the movie, which was earlier to be played by Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Nayanthara Joins Yash’s Toxic? 

As reported by Pinkvilla, Toxic director Geethu Mohandas Nayanthara is in talks with the makers of Toxic and has held multiple meetings with Geethu Mohandas and Yash regarding the movie. The report also claimed that Nayanthara is “impressed” with the way Mohandas has written a role for her and therefore, if everything goes well, she might accept the offer.

“Nayanthara has shown her interest in doing Toxic and the logistics are being figured out at this point in time. It’s a well-sketched character of a sister and suits her image of a strong woman. Nayanthara is impressed that Geethu Mohandas has written such a strong character for a female and she is connecting well with her vision,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.

“The talks are on, and the team is working collectively to get the logistics in place. If everything goes well, the makers will have Nayanthara on board in a fortnight,” the insider added.

Why Did Kareena Kapoor Walk Out of Yash’s Toxic? 

Interestingly, earlier today, it was reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan, who was supposed to be Yash’s on-screen sister in Toxic, has walked out of the film due to date-related issues. “Kareena Kapoor’s dates do not align with the dates of Yash for Toxic. After making efforts to set the calendar right, the makers have amicably parted ways,” a source cited by Pinkvilla said and then added, “Toxic has a strong sibling emotion, and the part of the sister is very crucial to the narrative, warranting the presence of a top star. The makers are looking to cast actresses with Pan India presence for the part.”

What Else Do We Know About Yash’s Toxic? 

Billed as the ‘Fairy tale for grown-ups’, the action-packed movie Toxic will be directed by Geetu Mohandas. It will be produced under the banner of KVN Productions. The shooting for the film is already underway. Reportedly, Toxic will also star Kiara Advani but there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now. Toxic is slated to hit theatres worldwide on April 10, 2025.
