Fans of Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela were delighted to witness their song “Kurchi Madathapetti” from the movie ‘Guntur Kaaram’ being featured at an NBA game in the US. The catchy song played during halftime, with a video of the moment now circulating online.

The official social media account of Trivikram Srinivas’ film ‘Guntur Kaaram’ shared the video of the song being showcased during the NBA game’s halftime show. They expressed, “Witness the #KurchiMadathaPetti mania spreading globally! Superstar @urstrulymahesh’s electrifying #KurchiMadathaPetti dance lit up the Toyota Center in Houston during the NBA game halftime. #GunturKaaram.”

The video showcases dancers of various ages taking over the basketball court and grooving to the lively number composed by Thaman S.

Sreeleela and Sivakarthikeyan recently graced the Anantara Cultural Fiesta 2024 event in Thiruchirappalli, Chennai. During their performance at the event, the duo also showcased their dance moves to the popular track from ‘Guntur Kaaram.’ Sreeleela even taught Sivakarthikeyan the choreography before they both danced together.

The last movie for both Mahesh and Sreeleela was ‘Guntur Kaaram,’ which hit theaters this Sankranthi. The film received a mix of reviews from critics and audiences. Guntur Kaaram is the third movie for which Trivikram and Mahesh have together, following Athadu and Khaleja. Though it received mixed reviews initially, its box office performance gradually improved and remained steady during Sankranthi. Naga Vamsi mentioned at a press meet that the film was doing better business in Andhra Pradesh compared to Telangana and overseas.

In the film, Mahesh plays Ramana, a tough guy from Guntur who has distanced himself from his mother, played by Ramya Krishnan. When his politician grandfather, portrayed by Prakash Raj, tells him to cut all ties with her, Ramana rebels to uncover why she left him twenty years ago. The film also stars Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, and others. Haarika & Hassine Creations and Sithara Entertainments have produced this film.

On the work front, Mahesh is gearing up for an upcoming project under the direction of SS Rajamouli, scheduled to start filming soon. On the other hand, Sreeleela is set to star alongside Pawan Kalyan in Harish Shankar’s “Ustaad Bhagat Singh.”
