Mumbai: Manish Malhotra is celebrating his 25 glorious years in the industry and nothing could have been a better way to commemorate the event than the Lakme Fashion Week. The couturier showcased his Summer/ Resort collection and also introduced a new dimension to it with a social message of gender equality. The offsite show took place at the Great Eastern Home- a home décor store featuring beautiful furniture.
Named as the Blue Runway, Manish's collection featured intricate thread work and Parsi gara embroidery. The soft and flowy fabrics were coloured in hues of blue with bold touches of yellow. The women's line included flowy gown, jacket-saris, off shoulder and crop tops. The embroidery work had 3D effect to it. The men's collection was equally brilliant with male models strutting on the runway in bandhgala jackets and long shirts in structured and easy styles.
The front row guests included Kajol, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez, Huma Qureshi, Richa Chaddha and Sophie Choudry among others. Here are the highlights from the show.
