BTS may not have been able to win the Grammys on Sunday, but the seven-member band managed to win the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards that are based on listeners’ and fans’ votes.
The South Korean band made history by becoming the first K-pop group to be nominated for the Grammys this year. The band was nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group category for their Billboard Hot 100 no. 1 song Dynamite. However, the award was won by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande for their song Rain On Me.
BTS also shared the video when the winner of the category was being announced. The situation was certainly very palpitating – both for the members and for the fans as it shows members taking deep breaths moments before the winner of the Grammys was announced. However, when the winner was announced the members collapsed in a collective sigh of relief as the suspense was over. Despite not winning the award, BTS remained happy and appreciative of the fact that they have pushed the boundaries for South Korean artists.

However, it is still time to celebrate as the global artists went on to win three Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice awards. The group even expressed their love for their fans called Army in a cute video. The video shows each member of BTS passing on the Orange Nickelodeon as they send out their message to the fans. Starting from the group leader RM, who catches the award falling from the sky, who thanks the army and the kids for all the amazing awards. The award is then passed on to J-Hope who flashes his heart-warming smile as he thanks the fans for showing love to their song Dynamite. While Jin holds the award like a telephone and tries to connect with his fans as he says, “Hello? Is this Army? We love you.” Jungkook with his metallic blue dyed hair declares his fans Army as the best who keep it amazing, as he lifts the award like a dumbbell.

BTS won the three awards for Best Song Dynamite, Global Music Star, and the Best Music Group in the 2021 Nickelodeon Kids’s Choice Awards.
