Korean Actor Kim Ji Soo Accused of School Bullying and Sexual Assault, Apologises to Past Victims
River Where The Moon Rises star Kim Ji Soo has been accused of being a "bully" and a "sexual predator" in school.

Korean actor Ji Soo has come under scrutiny for allegations of school bullying and sexual assault. A person claiming to be the River Where The Moon Rises star’s schoolmate from 2006-2008, claimed that the K-drama actor was a “bully” and a “sexual predator”.

On March 2, a post was uploaded to an online forum accusing Ji Soo of being a perpetrator of school violence. The accuser wrote, “Kim Ji Soo had a bigger build than the other kids his age at the time. Starting in his second year of middle school in 2007, he roamed the school as a delinquent and performed all sorts of bad deeds.”

The person continued, “I was bullied by Kim Ji Soo and the delinquents in 2008, my third year of middle school. The word ‘bullying’ is not enough to describe everything. I was a victim of all kinds of school violence like being made an outcast, violence, blackmailing, insults, and abusive language… I don’t need an apology about something that cannot be reverted. And I don’t believe [the apology] would be sincere. There is just one thing I want. Kim Ji Soo. If acting is what you want to do, do it. But keep the title of ‘school violence perpetrator’ in front of your name forever in your heart. Like me, the countless number of people you bullied will never forget that memory.”

Following this, other fellow classmates accused Ji Soo of sexual violence. Another anonymous user came forward and accused him of being a ‘womaniser’. He reportedly also accused him of having intercourse with a middle school student in a bathroom.

Ji Soo’s agency Keyeast Entertainment released a statemen stating they are investigating the matter and will need some time, reported Soompi. “We are looking at this incident seriously and will do our utmost to verify the facts,” they said.

The actor himself has posted a handwritten apology, that said, “I sincerely apologize to the people who suffered because of me. There is no excuse for my past misconduct. They were things that cannot be forgiven.”

KBS drama River Where the Moon Rises has cancelled filming for today, March 4, and are discussing whether to replace Ji Soo as the main actor following his bullying scandal.
