Mumbai Saga, starring John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi, released in theatres on Friday, March 19. However, just after a few hours of the release, the movie fell prey to piracy as it was leaked online by TamilRockers. As per reports, the film has been leaked in HD quality and people can download it for free. Because of the leak, the box office collection of the film could get affected.
Earlier, several popular films including 2.0, Angrezi Medium, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Love Aaj Kal, and others were leaked online.
The first set of viewers who visited theatres to watch the film gave a good response to the movie. The Sanjay Gupta directorial was earlier scheduled to release on June 19, 2020. However, it got postponed due to the outbreak of coronavirus. Earlier, explaining why Mumbai Saga was not released on OTT platforms, the makers said that the film was meant for a big-screen experience.
Fans can see John playing the role of a Mumbai gangster in the film, whereas Emraan is portraying the character of a cop. Other actors who feature in the film are Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar and Gulshan Grover.
The action-packed film is set in the 1980s-90s and revolves around transforming Bombay into Mumbai. On Friday, in response to a plea filed by gangster DK Rao, alias Ravi Bohra, and the relatives of underworld don Amar Naik and his brother Ashwin Naik, the Bombay High Court refused to stay the movie’s release.
John will next be seen in Attack which will release on August 13, 2021, and Satyameva Jayate 2 which will hit the theatres on May 12, 2021.
