James Gunn often shares pictures of him spending time with cast and crew during the filming of Superman featuring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. As the production is going in full swing for the upcoming DCEU movie, the filmmaker keeps fans engaged with regular updates. Recently, Gunn confirmed Mikaela Hoover and Christopher MacDonald, as Cat Grant and Ron Troupe, respectively, colleagues of Lois Lane from the Daily Planet. In the latest post, Gunn shared a glimpse of several team members socialising after a long day of shoot. The image features actors Hoover, MacDonald, Wendell Pierce and Pruitt Taylor Vince, alongside producers, a friend, a dog and a surprise visitor, Guardians of the Galaxy star Michael Rooker, who, as per Gunn, was simply visiting the set to meet everyone.
Sharing the cryptic picture, the filmmaker wrote, “Capturing a nice moment in Macon after a long day of shooting Superman with (from L to R), Mikaela Hoover (Cat Grant), Ava (Dog), Lars Winther (Producer), Chris McDonald (Ron Troupe), Brittany (Friend), Wendell Pierce (Perry White), Michael Rooker (just visiting while shooting in Charleston – not here to shoot, I swear), Chantal Nong (Producer) and Pruitt Taylor Vince (Jonathan Kent).”
While the majority of plot details for the upcoming film are kept under wraps, it was earlier confirmed that Superman will be shown revisiting his Kryptonian heritage while navigating his human life in Smallville. As a symbol of truth, justice and a better tomorrow, Clark Kent’s story will be shaped by human kindness in a world that often sees kindness as outdated.
Written and directed by James Gunn, the upcoming DCEU’s Superman features David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Edi Gathegi will play Mister Terrific, while Nathan Fillion portrays Guy Gardner, a version of Green Lantern. Anthony Carrigan will be seen as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Maria Gabriela De Faria as Angela Spica, aka. The Engineer. Skyler Gisondo will appear as Kent’s friend Jimmy, while Sara Sampaio as Miss Tesmacher and Terence Rosemore. Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell will be seen as Kent’s human parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent, among others.
Superman is scheduled to release on July 11, 2025.
