Farhan Akhtar to 'Revive' Jee Le Zaraa With Alia, Katrina and Priyanka; Script Finally 'in Place'?
Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, was announced in 2021, but there has not been any update about its progress since then.

Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar is reportedly planning to “revive” Jee Le Zaraa, starring Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra. In 2021, Farhan had announced his return to the direction with the slice-of-life road trip film. However, the movie never took off owing to scheduling conflict.

As per the latest report in Pinkvilla, Farhan Akhtar and the officials at Excel are exploring the possibilities of reviving Jee Le Zaraa. “While Jee Le Zaraa was put on the backburner before proceeding to the pre-production stage, the team at Excel was continuing to give the final touches to the script. The film was put on the back burner due to date issues and not completely called off, as it’s a pet project for all the stakeholders – from the producers to writers and director. The script is completely in place and the team is now looking to revive the project,” revealed a source close to the development.

The source continued, “During her visit to India, Farhan Akhtar met Priyanka Chopra as well to restart the conversation of Jee Le Zaraa. He has been in touch with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt too. The trio is working out on the combination dates with a positive intent of bringing the film back on track.”

During an interview with Variety last year, Farhan Akhtar had claimed that the dates were an issue behind the delay. “We just have issues with dates, and the actor’s strike that’s happened has put Priyanka’s dates into a huge tizzy with what can happen and what can’t, so I’ve started genuinely believing that that film now has a destiny of its own. It’ll happen when it has to, we’ll see,” Farhan had told the publication.

When Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa was announced, it had everyone excited owing to its stellar cast of Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra. Netizens were stoked to see another road-trip film like Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara but with a women-centric cast. However, its delay has left fans disappointed.
