Ever since Sonu Sood turned messiah for several needy people during the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown, fans across the country have been sending him all kinds of requests. During the lockdown last year, Sonu went out of his way to help migrant workers reach their respective hometowns. The actor also stepped forward to help people who were hospitalised or were under financial debt.
While most requests Sonu gets are genuine as people usually ask his help in their medical bills, education fees, house rent, among many other things. On other occasions, fans send him really funny and peculiar requests. He almost always takes them sportingly and replies to such demands with wit. In one such recent incident, a Twitter user asked Sonu to sponsor his wedding.
On Monday, a user of the micro-blogging site shared a tweet for the actor asking him if he will get him married. “Sir aap shaadi karwa denge kya (Sir, would you get me married)?” it read. Now, Sonu who seemed really amused by this unusual request took the opportunity to give a witty response to the person. He tweeted back saying, “Kyun nahin.. shaadi ke liye mantra bhi padh dunga! Buss ladki dhoodne ka kasht aap kar le (Why not? I will read the mantras at the wedding as well. Please just take the trouble of finding a girl for yourself)”, followed by folded hands emoji.
क्यों नहीं..शादी के लिए मंत्र भी पढ़ दूंगा।बस लड़की ढूंढने का कष्ट आप कर लें। ???? https://t.co/M8qKx664O9— sonu sood (@SonuSood) March 16, 2021
Previously, Sonu has received more bizarre requests by people. Fans asked him to fix their internet speed, buy them cars, sponsor their trips to the Maldives, help them get a divorce among other absurd things. Sonu’s foundation has engaged in charity work even post lockdown. The focus is to help the financially weaker segment of the society. In another initiative started by Sonu, he donated several electronic rickshaws in many parts of the country including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and more. He was conferred with SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for his philanthropic work.
