The demand for remakes of popular films from the 1990s and the 2000s is at an all-time high. Fans have been taking to social media to demand remakes of classic films. Amidst them is Salman Khan’s Ready. Upon its release, the film performed well at the box office. In a recent interview, director Anees Bazmee opened up and shared if Ready 2 is in the pipeline.
In a conversation with Times Now, Anees Bazmee has reacted to the demand for the sequel of Ready. He mentioned how he loved Salman Khan’s comic timing in Ready and how he was keen on working with him again. He said that he does not have a concrete plan for Ready 2 but he is open to giving it a thought. Bazmee said, “Salman Khan’s comic timing is incredible in Ready. I feel if we are able to do it, we can deliver a wonderful film once again. We will definitely give it a thought. I would love to work with Salman Khan again. My films with him have been memorable. Ready toh superhit thi hi aur No Entry is a cult film.”
Starring Salman Khan, Asin, Paresh Rawal, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Manoj Pahwa, Ready revolves around Prem who lives in a joint family setting in Thailand. Prem’s marriage is settled with Sanjana who has run away from her family. She introduces herself as Pooja and woos his family. However, the truth comes out and the family accepts her.
Upon its release in 2011, Ready earned Rs 186.02 crore at the box office. The film is based on a Telugu film of the same name which starred Genelia D’Souza and Ram Pothineni. On the work front, Khan is currently hosting Bigg Boss 18. He will be next seen in AR Murugadoss’ Sikandar which has been slated to release in 2025. Bazmee is gearing up for the release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which stars Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit, and Vidya Balan in key roles.
