Vijay Varma’s latest post on Instagram is sure to leave you in splits. The actor decided to treat fans to his humourous side on Saturday, sharing a throwback video of Chunky Pandey on his Instagram stories. What is it about? In the clip, Chunky Panday is seen reflecting on his opinions on the alleged rivalry between him and legendary actor Govinda. However, it was Vijay’s caption for the video that captured fans’ attention, intriguing them.

In the video originally posted by Lehren TV, Chunky Panday clarified his stand on his rumoured rift with Govinda during the shoot of Aankhen as he said, “Had there been any rivalry, the film would not have been completed on time. Instead, we were helping each other with scenes.”

Sharing the video, Vijay asked fans, “Watched this old interview of mine?” subtly hinting at his resemblance with young Chunky and we couldn’t agree more.

In a subsequent story, Vijay Varma posted a GIF featuring Chunky Panday as his iconic dialogue from the Housefull franchise overlays, “I’m joking.” He also tagged the veteran actor in his post.

In terms of work, Vijay Varma is busy basking in love for his role in the latest show IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Based on the Indian Airlines flight 814 hijack in 1999, the series stars Vijay Varma, Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Dia Mirza, Manoj Pahwa and Arvind Swamy in key roles.

Recently, Vijay Varma was asked about actress Tamannaah Bhatia’s reaction to IC 814 during the IIFA Awards 2024. He replied, “She is the strongest supporter of the show even before it came out. And she continued to maintain that stand.” When further asked whether the couple is critical of each other’s work, the actor said, “No not really. Also, because she does such quality stuff like her song (Aaj ki raat) is such a rage. Set an example for people how to do it right. So, there is not much room for criticism.”

IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack is adapted from Devi Sharan and Srinjoy Chowdhury’s book Flight Into Fear. He will next be seen in the upcoming romantic drama, Ul Jalool Ishq, directed by Vibhu Puri and produced by fashion designer Manish Malhotra. Apart from the actor, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Naseeruddin Shah and Sharib Hashmi will star in the project.
