The upcoming Malayalam film Cup, starring Mathew Thomas and Basil Joseph, is all set to release soon. The makers released its teaser on April 21. It has generated much hype among cine-goers and left the fans excited as they await the release of the film. The upcoming film has been garnering much attention, ever since it was first announced. The teaser has received much appreciation. Cup is presented by Alphonse Puthran and backed by Allwin Antony and Angelena Mary under the banner of Ananya Films. It is helmed by debutant Sanju V Samuel. Cup revolves around the sport of badminton. It is billed as a feel-good film and is penned by Akhilesh Latharaj and Denson Durom.
The teaser of Cup opens with a shot of a person serving the shuttlecock and the scene cuts to a couple of children playing badminton. The film is set in the village of Vellathooval and depicts the journey of a humble boy Nidhin, who is 16 years old, played by Mathew Thomas. The young boy dreams of achieving success in the sport. The teaser further showed Mathew’s character wanting to win a coveted prize in badminton. Further, it introduces the many characters who will play an important role in Mathew’s life.
The teaser has already received about 4 lakh views on YouTube. The fans did not waste any time and praised the film in the comment section. One user commented, “Guru Somasundaram. The music is handled by Shaan Rahman and has four songs composed by Manju Manjith and a song by RZee. The Cup boasts of an excellent star cast. It will feature Guru Somasundaram as Mathew Thomas’ father Babu, with Thushara Pillai as his mother and Mrinalini Susan George as his sister. Meanwhile, Basil Joseph appears in a significant role, alongside Namitha Pramod and Karthik Vishnu. Anikha Surendran and Riya Shibu too will be seen in the film. It will also see Anand Roshan, Mridul Pachu, Chembil Ashokan and Nandu Poduval, in key roles.
