Jeremy Renner made a roaring comeback earlier this year after a harrowing incident that took place in 2023. The actor met a horrific accident last New Year which resulted in about 30 broken bones and emergency surgery. Currently, the Hollywood star is on the road to recovery and even announced that he was feeling better. Amid this, his Mayor of Kingstown co-star, Michael Beach, revealed that Renner technically died after the deadly accident.
Talking about the gradual improvement in Renner’s health, Beach told The Direct, “Jeremy is a war horse, man. I mean that guy, you know, he broke 38 bones. He actually died, which I didn’t know until he told me, and he’s been coming back. And he says he wasn’t sure how it would be. But he was ready. And he says every week, he feels stronger and stronger.”
Calling him strong, the actor added, “He’s in it doing it. He’s great. Yeah, he’s a great guy, man. And he’s really as tough as nails.” As Beach went on to speak further, he even noted that “a unique perspective to the story of how Jeremy Renner got run over by a snowplough” has been given to the cast and crew of Mayor of Kingstown. He concluded by saying, “They are not shy about telling you what was going on, how they felt, and all that stuff.”
Jeremy Renner recounted the accident earlier this year while speaking to Variety. The Hawkeye actor revealed that he and his 27-year-old nephew, Alex, were trying to tow a Ford Raptor out of the snow when the accident took place. Renner’s plow started sliding down after Alex opened the connecting chain between the vehicles, prompting him to extend one foot out of the plow to check on Alex. Due to the concern for Alex, Renner forgot to engage the parking brake which caused him to lose his balance. As a result, he fell out of the vehicle. Fearing that the plow might crush Alex as it was rolling back, the actor tried to jump back in to stop it which resulted in him being run over by the vehicle.
Renner opened up about his recovery in a candid chat with CNN earlier this year in January. He said, “I’m just so blessed I had so many things to live for, I have a giant family, a 10-year-old daughter. I would have disappointed and really messed up a lot of people’s lives if I had passed.”
