Bobby Deol has been all the rage since the release of the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial film Animal last year. However, this fanfare is not new for the actor. With films like Gupt and Soldier, Bobby Deol has been quite the sensation in the late 1990s. In an old interview with Filmfare, Bobby recalled filming Barsaat with Twinkle Khanna and revealed that they didn’t get along with each other.
Bobby said, “Tina and I didn’t get along from day one. We were at each other’s throats throughout the making of Barsaat. We’d fight about silly things. I used to irritate her by talking about the morning ablutions and the importance of a clean stomach. She used to find that obnoxious. She hated it when I used abusive words, she’d get all hot and bothered. And I loved needling her.”
“On the day of the premiere, we travelled together in the same car. I was a nervous wreck. I’m sure even she was but she hid it well. Throughout the car journey, I just held her hand. And you know what happened after the premiere? I heard her use foul lingo. I was taken aback. Throughout the shooting, she’d nagged me about giving gaalis. And here she was doing the same. When I told her this, she just chortled,” Bobby shared.
Bobby recalled how one time the actress fainted during the film’s shoot. He said, “Once I remember we were shooting in Rohtang Pass near Manali. The oxygen supply was close to scarce. And she fainted. We had to pack up, she really gave us a scare.”
Bobby Deol will soon be seen in Kanguva. Kanguva marks Bobby Deol’s Tamil debut. In December 2023, the actor shared that his character in the Suriya-starrer goes beyond his usual comfort zone. “This role is definitely out of my comfort zone, also I don’t know the language, so that is again totally out of my zone. I can’t even learn Tamil in a month or two, but I will work on it,” he told India Today. Bobby’s poster for the film was released on his birthday this year and received a massively positive response.
