Bala: Ayushmann Khurrana to Play a Man with Premature Balding in Third Film with Bhumi Pednekar
Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar are coming together for the third time for Amar Kaushik’s next film Bala.

After two successful outings—Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017) —actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar are all geared up to star together in another film, titled Bala.

Taking forward his love for quirky roles—sperm donor (Vicky Donor), a man suffering from erectile dysfunction (Shubh Mangal Saavdhan), a pianist pretending to be blind (Andhadhun) and a grown-up son coming to terms with the accidental pregnancy of his ageing mother (Badhaai Ho)— Khurrana will play a man dealing with premature balding in the film. Pednekar, meanwhile, will play a small-town girl once again.

Bala will be directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Maddock Films, the same duo that’s behind Stree, which turned out to be one of the biggest films of 2018. The film is expected to begin shooting in March next year and is slated to release in September 2019.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh broke the news on Twitter on Saturday. “#Bala will see Ayushmann as a prematurely balding guy and Bhumi as a dusky small-town girl... Filming starts March 2019... Sept 2019 release,” he tweeted.

Currently basking in the glory of two back-to-back successful films—Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho—Khurrana recently released the poster of his next film Dream Girl, in which he stars opposite Nushrat Bharucha.

Meanwhile, the teaser of Pednekar’s next—Sonchiriya—in which she stars alongside Sushant Singh Rajput, Manoj Bajpayee and Ranvir Shorey, released earlier this week.
