Anurag Kashyap, a maverick of modern Indian cinema, has redefined the boundaries of storytelling with his unique directorial vision and relentless pursuit of authenticity. From Gangs Of Wasseypur to Sacred Games, the film-maker has often found himself to be the topic of discussion, especially for his controversial opinions. Maintaining that trajectory, he recently took the internet by storm when he shared a cryptic post about becoming a ‘bad guy’.

On Thursday, Anurag Kashyap took to his Instagram handle and shared a written post with a black background that read, “Iss duniya mein achcha banke ghanta kuch milne waala hai. Now, if I have to be a bad guy,

so be it!”

Take a look:

This comes months after he had revealed that from now on, he is going to charge people who want to meet and discuss ideas. He had shared a cautionary message for everyone, that read, “I wasted a lot of time trying to help newcomers and mostly ended up with mediocre s**t. So Now onwards I don’t want to waste my time with meeting random people who think they’re creative geniuses. So I will now have rates. If some one wants to meet me for 10-15 minutes I will charge 1 lac, for half hour 2 lacs and for 1 hour 5 lacs. That’s the rate. I am tired of wasting time meeting people. If you really think you can afford it, call me or stay the f**k away. And all paid in advance.” He further penned the caption, “And I mean it Don’t text or dm or call me Pay and you will get time. I amnot a charity and I am tired of people looking for shortcuts.”

Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap is apparently set to mark his directorial debut in the Tamil film industry. As per the latest reports, the Gangs of Wasseypur director will be collaborating with Tamil actor and musician GV Prakash for a movie. Anurag Kashyap has previously forayed into the Tamil industry and marked his debut as an actor in the 2018 movie, Imaikkaa Nodigal starring Nayanthara, Vijay Sethuprathi and Atharvaa. He has also had a cameo role in Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo. Now, he is gearing up for his maiden directorial movie in the Tamil industry, with none other than GV Prakash.

Reportedly, the movie will be bilingual, which will be primarily shot in the Hindi language and will be dubbed in Telugu, Tamil and other languages. This collaboration has piqued the interest of cinephiles. As per reports, the shoot of the movie is expected to commence in May. It is being touted as a high-budget entertainer that will keep the audience glued to the screen. This collaboration will also mark GV Prakash’s debut in Bollywood.

Anurag Kashyap is a huge fan of Tamil movies and often drops his reviews about the recently-released South movies. In his blockbuster movie, Gangs of Wasseypur, he has credited actor-director Sasikumar’s Subramaniyapuram in the credits. On the work front, his last few movies tanked at the box office. His recent movies were Dobaaraa with Taapsee Pannu, Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat and another movie titled Kennedy.
