Actress Simran To Play The Female Lead In Thalapathy 69? What We Know

Thalapathy Vijay-starrer The Greatest of All Time has set the cash registers ringing by raking in Rs 184.5 crore in just 9 days. On Friday, September 13, the film added Rs 6.5 crore to its total collection, despite the mixed reviews. Now, he is looking forward to his final film tentatively titled Thalapathy 69. It is expected that he will team up with actress Simran for this film. There is no confirmation from the producers on these reports. Thalapathy Vijay and Simran have also not revealed anything on this issue. If these reports are correct, then it will be the 3rd collaboration of Vijay and Simran’s career. They had earlier worked on the film Priyamanavale, which was released at the cinemas on October 20, 2000. K Selvabharathi directed this film. Thalapathy Vijay and Simran also collaborated on the track Aal Thotta Bhoopathi from Youth, a 2002 Indian Tamil-language action romantic drama film directed by Vincent Selva. It is the Tamil remake of the Telugu film, Chiru Navvuto, that released in 2000.

According to reports, Thalapathy Vijay has become the highest-paid Indian actor with the remuneration he will be getting for his last film. The report points out that he is getting paid Rs 275 crore for Thalapathy 69. The 50-year-old actor is expected to be paired with Simran, Mohanlal, Mamitha Baiju, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Pooja Hegde.

According to a report, Thalapathy 69’s pre-production is underway. The film’s shooting is expected to start in October 2024.

After Thalapathy 69, Vijay will solely focus on his political career with his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. As per report, he has asked his party cadre to take a Left-of-Centre stance and venerate BR Ambedkar, Periyar and K Kamaraj.

K Kamaraj was the former chief minister of Madras State. Reportedly, Thalapathy Vijay wants to present these leaders as the party’s primary sources of ideological inspiration. He further reports that he is currently reading the book Ambedkar Indrum Endrum (Ambedkar Today and Forever). This book is a compilation of Ambedkar’s works. The report added that Thalapathy Vijay would finish the book before he headed for the press conference.
