The killing of national president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in his Jaipur home had sent shockwaves over law and order situation in the state. While one of the assailants was killed by Gogamedi’s men, others are still missing.
In fresh development, two police personnel, including a station house officer (SHO) of Shyam Nagar police station, were suspended.
Speaking to the media, Sheela Shekhawat, wife of deceased Karni Sena Chief, said they have been assured that action will be taken against the accused within 72 hours.
“Your sister will call you again, if required, and you will have to come out and support me. I request you all to come and pay your last respects (to Gogamedi) tomorrow,” Sheela told Karni Sena activists, reported ANI.
The mortal remains of the Karni Sena chief was kept for public viewing at Rajput Sabha Bhawan in Jaipur at 7am on Thursday. His last rites will be performed at his native village, Gogamedi, around 2 pm.
Gogamedi’s mortal remains, which has now reached Sikar, will be taken to Hanuman Garh, the ancestral village of the victim.
Karni Sena Murder: Accused’s Father Says No Contact with Him for Weeks
The family of one of the two men allegedly involved in the killing of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi on Wednesday said they have had no contact with him for the past few weeks. Gogamedi was shot dead on Tuesday in the living room of his house in Jaipur.
“On November 9, my son had gone to get his car repaired in Mahendergarh. The same day he got his car repaired, but there has been no contact with him since that day,” the father of Nitin Fauji told reporters in Haryana’s Mahendergarh when asked that his son’s name has figured in the Jaipur incident.
One of Nitin’s classmates told reporters in Mahendergarh that he was shocked and could not believe when he came to know about the incident from the media.
“He (Nitin) was very good in studies and we were classmates in school…later he decided to join the Army,” the classmate said. “Nitin who got married a year ago was good at studies. Don’t know who brainwashed him. We still don’t believe after his name emerged in the case,” he said.

Gangster Rohit Godara, who has taken responsibility for the murder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, had recently demanded Rs 1 crore in extortion from a former local councillor and a businessman, police said on Wednesday.
While an FIR was registered at the Bilaspur police station on the complaint of businessman Rakesh Kumar, the gangster — said to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang — no headway was made in the case.
After Gogamedi’s murder, there is panic in the Kumar household with the businessman, who owns a petrol pump, claiming that he was threatened over the phone by Godara thrice in one month. A resident of Bilaspur Khurd village, Kumar said he demanded security from the police but was provided with only one constable.
