Youth arrested for allegedly raping married Dalit woman

A youth was arrested by the police on Monday for allegedly raping a married Dalit housewife after threatening her with dire consequences.

The accused has been identified as Suraj Pawar (19), Kudail police station in-charge Rajiv Tripathi told reporters.

Pawar allegedly entered the house of the 22-year-old victim on July 17 when she was alone and raped her after threatening her and fled the spot.

The accused used to visit her residence quite often and also used to call her up over phone. A case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
