THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A nine-year-old’s concern on the menace of plastic waste in society has bagged her three awards at the recently-concluded State Children’s Film Festival organised by the SIET at Kozhikode.   A student of Holy Angels’ Higher Secondary School, Devukrishna S Nath has bagged awards for best direction, best dubbing, and second best cinema in the primary section. Devu’s film, which she shot by herself, speaks about how  plastic waste is increasing in the city and how its presence in water, air and soil creates pollution. The 26-minute-long film has comments of experts on the issue too.   She had shot the scenes taking six months’ time and has included materials from Internet too. She has acted in short films and has done dubbing. She is the daughter of K Swaminathan, teacher at Government Kalady Government High School, and Seena, employed in the Cooperation Department.
