HYDERABAD: The golden jubilee year of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad provided the perfect occasion for its alumni association in city to bring together members from different walks of life and across generations.
Addressing the gathering, additional directorgeneral of police and president of the alumni association, Hyderabad chapter, SV Ramanamurthy welcomed the members. The first professor Ravi Mathai memorial lecture in honour of the first director of the institute was delivered PD Rai, MP from Sikkim and student of the 1978 batch of IIMA.Professor TV Rao, alumnus and faculty member at IIMA delivered the address of IIMA director Dr Samir Barua. In the note, the director mentioned the successful conversion of CAT into a computerised test this year. Commenting on possibility of opening up the educational system to foreign players, the director welcomed the challenge and announced a faculty development programme to be instituted by IIMA.

The dean of Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, Ajit Rangnekar, chief vigilance commissioner SV Prasad were among alumni commended for their achievements. SV Ramanamurthy was felicitated for his contribution to public service.
