BANGALORE: Support it could be construed as for estranged former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, despite it coming from the unlikeliest of quarters. Addressing the Media here on Thursday, senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha member A H Vishwanath averred that the vice-like grip of the RSS and the Sangh Pariwar over the BJP and the state government had resulted in the abject humiliation to Yeddyrappa. He urged the former CM to free himself from the clutches of the RSS and Sangh Pariwar and form a new political outfit.“Yeddyurappa, who has the backing of the Lingayat community, was responsible for building the BJP in the state; it is unfortunate that he has been treated in such a shabby manner,” he said. The Congress leader also urged Yeddyurappa to put an end to the continued humiliation being meted out to him by his party men. “All said and done, Yeddyurappa has the skills to respond to the needs of the people. It was due to his decision to share cost of various state railway projects that helped to improve the railway network here,” Vishwanath said. However, he parried questions on whether he would take the lead in bringing Yeddyurappa in to the Congress fold as he had done to Siddaramaiah earlier.Attacking former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, he said: “Gowda and his sons oppose the government during day; however, they visit the CM’s residence at night to get their work done.”
