Will the year 2012 belong to Sonakshi Sinha?
Will the year 2012 belong to Sonakshi Sinha?
Sonakshi Sinha will feature in her first 3 D film 'Joker' in the latter half of the year.

New Delhi: Sonakshi Sinha has not been seen on silver screen since September 10, 2010 but her confident performance in 'Dabangg' has left the audiences waiting for her next celluloid appearance. The wait is expected to be over by June, 2012, when 'Rowdy Rathore' will go public.

Sonakshi has seven films lined up to be released in the next year, out of which at least five have either reached the shooting or the post production stage. Her rich film kitty suggests that Sonakshi could be one of the foremost contenders of the top heroine slot in the next year.

She will start the year with 'Rowdy Rathore' starring opposite Akshay Kumar. The initial handmade posters of the film have generated enthusiasm among the fans. The news of Akshay's return to hardcore action is another inspiration to watch the film.

Sinha will feature in her first 3 D film 'Joker' in the latter half of the year. This Shirish Kunder flick will again showcase the dusky beauty with Akshay Kumar. Although Shirish Kunder's track record is not good as a director but the storyteller has put ample time in pre-production which might prove beneficial at the box office.

Ajay Devgn is returning as a producer with 'S.O.S.-Son of Sardar' in 2012. The film is directed by Ashwini Dhir of 'Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge' fame. Sonakshi will be flaunting her comic skills in 'Son of Sardar'.

If media reports are to be believed then 'Lootera', 'Dabangg 2' and 'Kick' are also expected to hit theatres sometimes in 2012.

All these films have bankable actors and experienced directors who will leave no stone unturned to encash the popularity that Sonakshi has generated via 'Dabangg' and other public appearances.

Kareena is the reigning number one by any standard and the mega successes of 'Bodyguard' and 'RA.One' have established her authority on the number podium. She too will remain in the frame as 'Heroine', 'Agent Vinod', and 'Talaash' will hit screens in coming months.

Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra are also not going to leave the race anytime soon but with so many big budget films lined up, the tussle will directly take place between Sonakshi and Kareena for the top actress spot of 2012.
