BANGALORE: The state government’s decision to close Kannada medium schools with less students will be highlighted during Kannada Sahitya Sammelana that will be held in Gangavathi taluk from November 18, 2011.Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Kannada Sahithya Parishath president Nallur Prasad said they will highlight the issue of Kannada school closure in of the meeting during Sammelana. “By closing such schools, the government is indirectly helping the surrounding private schools,” he said.Nallur said that KSP has written letter to the CM as well as concerned authorities, requesting not to close such schools. “If the government does not step back in its decision of closing Kannada schools, there are KSP units in taluk and districts and we will stage protests across the state,” he said.When asked about the Karnataka-Maharashtra border issue, Nallur said there is no language or border issue with common people. “It is created by the creamy layer of the society for political reasons,” he added.
