Haritha Reddy, the wife of Andhra Pradesh minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, ignited controversy after a video surfaced on social media showing her scolding a police officer for delaying her while she was on her way to attend an event.
Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy is also the Minister of State for Sports and Youth in the state.
The video has stirred significant debate and criticism across social media platforms. In the footage, Haritha is seated in the car’s passenger seat, visibly questioning the police officer and airing her discontent with his handling of the situation.

“Isn’t it morning yet? What conference do you have? Have you come for a wedding or for duty? I waited half-an-hour for you. Who pays your salary? Government or YSRCP?” Haritha questioned the cop.
According to an India Today report detailing the incident, the incident took place in Annamayya district in Andhra Pradesh as Haritha was en route to a local event, involving sub-inspector Ramesh.
At the video’s end, following the exchange, the sub-inspector saluted Haritha and proceeded as she instructed him to lead the convoy.
Reacting to the video on social media platform X, the YSR Congress Party, recently defeated by TDP in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, condemned Haritha’s treatment of the police officer as a ‘disgrace.’ They criticised what they see as the TDP’s attitude towards public servants.
The YSR Congress Party also criticised that this incident reflected the TDP’s attitude towards public servants.
“The treatment of SI Ramesh by Haritha Reddy is a disgrace and it shows the amount of head power that @JaiTDP leaders have towards public servants. As the wife of a minister, she should uphold the values of respect and dignity towards our police force. Such behavior undermines public trust!,” the party wrote.
