Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh asked BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi to elaborate what the Gujarat government had done to protect "Gau Mata" (cow).
In a tweet, the Congress General Secretary said Modi spoke out against meat export but pointed out that the maximum number of meat factories came up during the NDA regime.
Singh said the Madhya Pradesh was the first state to start a Gau Sewa Ayog when he was the chief minister and it was dissolved when the BJP came to power.
"I believe in a ban on cow slaughter," he said.
