Amrapurkar, who was a regular face in the films of 1990s, was last seen in a cameo role in 'Bombay Talkies'.

New Delhi: Late actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar's last outing on the big screen was in a cameo role in 'Bombay Talkies'. The short film was directed by Dibakar Banerjee and it has Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role.

The scene had Nawazuddin, a man who gets a two minute role in a film, rehearsing before the shot in a secluded area when he hallucinates his dead father (Amrapurkar), a Marathi stage actor, imparting acting lessons to him. The four minute video has Amrapurkar telling different ways to say 'aye'- the only dialogue Siddiqui has been given to say. The scene is quite ironical in more ways than one with many instances similar to Amrapurkar's life. The cameo appearance was much lauded by the critics and perhaps is one of the best moments from the film.
