Veli Road renovation soon: Minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Shangumugham-Veli Road will be renovated at a cost of ` 2.75 crore, Transport Minister V S Sivakumar said on Monday. The tendering committee has approved the work at the above-mentioned cost, he said in a statement.  The Bituminous Macadam/Bituminous Concrete technique will be used to renovate the road in full width, he said. Since the north-east monsoon has started, the work can be started only by mid-November.  Recently, repair works had been taken out on this road in connection with  the festival at the Vettucaud church, the Minister said.
