US evangelist to be deported

KOCHI: The US-based evangelist, William Lee, who was arrested for violating visa norms, will be deported from the country on Thursday. He will be sent back to US via Doha on a Qatar Airways airplane from the Nedumbassery Airport.    He is currently in the custody of Palarivattiom Police. Police officials said that deportation expenses are borne by him.Lee was arrested from a five-star hotel in Kochi after he went missing from Musical Splash 2011, a religious programme held at Jawaharlal International Stadium in Kaloor, Kochi. He vanished from the spot, when the police reached the venue to ask him to leave the country. He was produced before the Kochi First class Magistrate who ordered him to be deported, along with a three day imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000
