Unmanned objects spotted over Mumbai airport airspace, police quiz all paragliding groups in the city
A complaint has been filed with the airport police. Police is questioning all registered paragliding groups in the city.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has launched an investigation after five unmanned objects were spotted over Mumbai airport airspace on Saturday evening.

The issue was brought to light after a Jet Airways pilot Dinesh Kumar spotted the objects. The pilot passed the information to the air traffic control. A complaint was filed with the airport police and his statement has been recorded.

A high level probe has been ordered by central agencies. There is no confirmation so far about landing of the unmanned objects. Police is questioning all registered paragliding groups in the city.

The Additional Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force will be questing the Air Traffic Control staff which was present at the time of the incident. Preliminary report suggests that the unmanned objects flew for over 6 minutes.

The authorities are tight lipped about the incident and are saying that the matter is under investigation. They are also examining whether these unmanned vehicles were remote operated or radio controlled. The Indian Army and Navy are also said to be roped in for the investigation along with Intelligence Bureau and the CISF. They have been asked to submit a report as soon as possible
