Travel agentspetitions rejected

CHENNAI: Travel agents cannot claim, as a matter of right, to accompany an applicant to the Passport Seva Kendras and remain with them throughout for obtaining the passport. The first bench comprising Chief Justice M Y Eqbal and Justice T S Sivagnanam made the observation while dismissing a batch of writ petitions. The travel agents said they should not be prevented from visiting PSKs. The Regional Passport Officer had ordered that agents had only a limited role to perform.
