Owing to the CMRL’s proposed execution of underground station construction work on Raja Muthiah Salai in between PLC point (EVR Salai - Raja Muthaiah Salai Jn) and Vepery High Road, the following traffic modifications will be implemented for three days on trial basis with effect from September 15, 6 am onwards.
The stretch of Raja Muthaiah Salai from PLC Point (EVR Salai - Raja Muthaiah Salai Junction) to Vepery High Road will be made one way with entry from EVR Salai X Raja Muthaiah Salai Junction and no entry from Raja Muthaiah Salai -Vepery High Road Junction towards EVR Salai.
Commercial vehicles and MTC Busses coming from Vepery High Road and intending to go to Chennai Central will have to take a route via Vepery High Road - Choolai Roundabout - Demellows point - Elephant gate bridge - Wall tax Road - EVR Salai to reach their destinations.
Light vehicles and two wheelers from Vepery High Road and Choolai may use Alli Kulam Road to reach Chennai Central.
Other vehicles including MTC buses, coming from Choolai and intending to go to Egmore will have to take a route via Vepery High Road - EVK Sampath Salai - EVR Salai to reach their destinations.
Vehicles coming from Choolai and intending to go to Chennai Central will have to take a route via Choolai Roundabout - Demellows point - Elephant gate bridge - Wall tax Road - EVR Salai to reach their destinations.
The vehicle movement on both directions on EVR Salai will remain as usual.
Motorists are requested to offer suggestions and their views after a few days of experience, so that any modification, if required, could be implemented.
