HYDERABAD: The first total lunar eclipse of the year will occur between 10:53 pm on June 15 and 4:32 am on June 16 (the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday).The eclipse will be visible only to half of the world due to the variations in the moonrise and sunset in the other parts of the world .According to the Planetary Society of India, India is one of the best locations to view this celestial event as all phases of the moon's eclipse will be visible from India .The total darkness of the moon in the earth's shadow will begin at around 00:52 hours and last till 02:33 hours . This event can be viewed by the naked eye as there will be no harmful ultraviolet radiations. This eclipse also brings other heavenly bodies into view like the star 51 Opiuchi which will be visible to the left of the moon at around 01:10 hours as the moon will eclipse the star. This star will be the only solar eclipse we will have till 2016 .Planets like Saturn, Jupiter and Venus will also be visible. Saturn will be visible at 23:00 hours to the west , Jupiter at around 04:00 hours and Venus half an hour before the sunrise will be visible to the east .
