THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The torch light procession of 55th State School Athletics Meet was inaugurated with the lighting of the torch by Chief Whip P C George at a function held at SMV High School, here. The procession will enter Ernakulam district on Wednesday and will be received by Kochi Mayor Tony Chammani. The meet will start on Thursday. Around 2,900 athletes are expected to participate. Sports Council president Padmini Thomas and Additional DPI Thankachan were present.
