Tirunallar temple staff, police clash

KARAIKAL: The staff of Lord Saneeswara temple at Tirunallar in Karaikal district went on a flash strike on Saturday following  quarrel with police personnel on duty.The temple attracts huge crowds on Saturdays and devotees have to stand in serpentine queues to have darshan.On Saturday, a policeman on security duty had reportedly brought some of his relatives for darshan and during the process, a wordy duel took place between the police and the temple staff. Following this, the staff launched a flash strike inside the temple condemning the police.Temple executive officer SK Panneerselvam held talks with them and brought peace. The flash strike went on for about an hour and it created flutter in the  temple.
