Three teenagers drown in LMD reservoir

KARIMNAGAR: Police fished out three bodies of youths from Lower Manair Dam (LMD) reservoir near Karimnagar town since Saturday night.According to police, the victims -- Avinash (18), Abdul Wahab (17), Fardeen (17), along with two other friends - Ratan (17) and Ajit (17), went for swimming to the rear side of the reservoir at Ramnagar on Saturday evening. All of them belonged to Karimnagar town.While Avinash, Wahab and Fardeen entered the waters, Ratan and Ajit sat on the bund. Going deep into the water, the trio drowned and their friends informed about it to their family members.On information, Karimnagar rural police rushed to the place and fished out the bodies of Avinash and Fardeen from the reservoir on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, the body of Wahab was retrieved from the waters.About eight persons drowned in four such incidents in the last one month in LMD.Karimangar RDO Sunanda, SRSP chief engineer Tulasidas and Rural CI Krupakar also visited the reservoir and decided to erect sign boards where accidents were occurring repeatedly.
