Karimnagar: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao accused the government of neglecting Telangana temples.
Speaking to mediapersons in Karimnagar on Monday after offering prayers at the Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple, he demanded the government to acquire 100 acres for the development of Vemulawada temple town. Stating that Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple has a historical background, the TRS supremo said that he prayed the presiding deity to help create separate Telangana state.
He hoped that the next year Sivaratri would be celebrated in the Telanagana state. He said that development of Telangana temples was not possible in the unified state. Going down the memory lane, he said he got married at Srirajarajeswara Swamy temple. Later, he unveiled the Telangana martyrs memorial built at the entrance of the Vemulawada town.
Referring to the ensuing byelections, he prophesied that the Congress and TDP would lose their deposits. After the formation of Telangana, he said Rs 200 crore would be allocated for the development of Telangana temples.
