Mumbai: Television actress and model Kuljeet Randhawa committed suicide at her apartment in suburban Juhu.
Her body was found hanging from the ceiling of her Krishna Apartment flat on Wednesday night. The body, first discovered by her maid servant, has been sent for post-mortem.
Kuljeet left behind a suicide note saying she took the extreme step as she was unable to cope with life's pressures.
Her suicide has brought back memories of the suicide by model-turned-VJ Nafisa Joseph in 2004. Incidentally, Randhawa was good friends with Joseph.
The watchman of the apartment where Kuljeet lived said the last person to visit her was the maid servant early on Wednesday and Kuljeet didn't come out of the flat for the entire day.
Randhawa's parents, who live in Delhi, were expected to arrive in Mumbai later on Thursday. Kuljeet shot to fame with her TV serial Koh-I-Noor, a suspense thriller.
She had also acted in other popular TV serials like Hip Hip Hurray and Cats.
Kuljeet was also the face of many brands like Electrolux, Savlon Maruti and Recova.
