Srinagar: Four injured in militant attack
Four persons, including a CRPF jawan, were injured in a grenade attack by militants.

Srinagar: Four persons, including a CRPF jawan, were on Friday injured in a rifle grenade attack by militants on a security forces camp in Sopore town of Baramulla district of Kashmir, officials said.

Militants fired the rifle grenade towards the camp of 179 Battalion CRPF near Townhall Sopore this morning but the explosive hit an electricity supply cable and got diverted. It then exploded just outside the camp, injuring three civilians and a CRPF jawan, they said.

The injured persons have been referred to SMHS hospital here for treatment, they said.

Soon after the blast, security forces rushed to the spot and began search operations, they said, adding no arrests have been made so far.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
