N Krishna Panicker, better known as Sreemandiram K P, a noted writer and expert on service matters, died here on Tuesday. He was 81.
He was a former president, secretary and vice-president of the Sahitya Pravarthaka Sahakarana Sangham.
The cremation will be held at Santhikavadam, Thycaud, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
It was only the other day that the 55th edition of his hugely popular book ‘Keralathile Sarkar Jeevanakkarude Sevanavyavasthakal’ had hit the stands.
More than 1.10 lakh copies of this reference work for government servants have been sold to date.
As a dramatist also, Sreemandiram made a name for himself. His plays ‘Kalanu Kanakku Thetti, ‘Adarkkalam,’ ‘Onamundum Odakkuzhalum’ and ‘Kinavallikal’ were staged in Kerala and outside.
Hailing from Nedumbram village near Thiruvalla, Sreemandiram started his career as a middle school teacher. He later joined the KSRTC and retired as administrative officer in 1986.
He is survived by wife K M Meenakshi Amma (former headmistress, Government High School, Mulakuzha), sons S Radhakrishnan, S Rajakrishnan, S Harikrishnan and daughter S Rajalakshmi.
