SN trust election dispute referred

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday referred a case related to the dispute over the election and administration of the Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust to the Kerala Mediation Centre for settling the issue.A Division Bench comprising Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan and Justice K Vinod Chandran passed the order while considering a petition filed by Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust member Sukshmananda Swami and four other members challenging the declaration of election.The court observed that the interest of the institutions in the name of Sree Narayana Guru is to ensure that peace and love prevail in the community. This is what Narayana Guru preached and showed  society, the bench observed.  Counsel for all the parties in the dispute suggested that the litigation over the issues could be resolved through an effective mediation process. As some of the parties involved in the dispute are unable to travel to Kochi due to their poor health, the court asked the mediation centre to find out whether the mediation process could be conducted elsewhere, at Sivagiri or any other convenient place. The court directed the mediators to file a report in this regard. The hearing of the case was posted to July 31.
