Pakistani woman Seema Haider, who entered India illegally via Nepal with her children to live with her lover Sachin Meena, has been summoned by a family court in Noida. She has been asked to appear before the court on May 27.

Seema’s Pakistani husband Ghulam Haider had moved to a city court last month through an Indian lawyer, accusing Seema and her partner Sachin Meena of cheating. Seema was married to Ghulam Haider when she crossed over to India along with her four minor children in May 2023 to live with Sachin, whom she claimed to have met while playing the mobile game PUBG.

The couple had later claimed to have gotten married in Kathmandu during an earlier meeting. They also celebrated their first wedding anniversary last month.

Seema’s Pakistani husband, Ghulam Haider, who lives in Karachi, had filed a petition in the family court in Noida, challenging the validity of Seema’s marriage with Sachin. Haider’s legal team had applied the CrPC’s Section 156 (3), which allows a magistrate to order an investigation.

In his petition, Haider has also challenged his children’s religious conversion.

According to an NDTV report, Ghulam Haider’s lawyer Momin Malik has claimed that Seema had not taken divorce from Ghulam Haider and that her marriage with Sachin was not valid.

Ghulam Haider had first approached Ansar Burney, a top Pakistani lawyer and human rights activist Ansar Burney, seeking help in getting custody of his four children.

Ansar Burney then hired an Indian lawyer, Ali Momin and sent him power of attorney to start legal proceedings in Indian courts.

Ghulam Haider was working in Saudi Arabia when his wife Seema came to India via the UAE and Nepal.
