THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The pass percentage in higher secondary examinations has touched an all-time high of 82.25 per cent this year and vocational higher secondary examinations 78.15 per cent.The pass percentage in part-I and part-II of higher secondary examinations stood at 90 percent. Those who secured a pass in part-I and part-II of vocational higher secondary examinations will be given trade certificate. The results were announced by General Education Principal Secretary James Varghese here on Friday.The number of students who secured A+ in all subjects for higher secondary examinations is 2,795. Only one student, P V Amala Mery Shyjy of Adimali SNDP VHSS, got A+ in all subjects in the vocational higher secondary examinations.For higher secondary examinations, the pass percentage of girl students is 87.02 per cent and 76.61 per cent for boys.For vocational higher secondary examinations, the pass percentage of girls is 86.05 per cent and boys 78.15 per cent.In higher secondary examinations, Thrissur with 88.93 per cent recorded the highest pass percentage and Kasargod with 74.68 percent the lowest pass percentage. For vocational higher secondary examinations, Thrissur with 89.20 percent registered the highest pass percentage and Pathanamthitta with 64.03 percent the lowest pass percentage for part I, II and III. For part-I and II,the same districts recorded the highest and lowest pass percentage with 96.62 per cent and 76.63 per cent respectively.In the higher secondary results, 52 schools registered 100 per cent pass while nine government schools and one aided school secured 100 per cent pass in the vocational higher secondary examinations.For the first time, the marks of higher secondary examinations will be counted for admissions to engineering courses this year, along with the marks in entrance examinations.As a result, double valuation was held for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics papers, the marks of which will be counted for engineering admissions. In case there is a difference of more than ten per cent in the marks during the first and second valuations, the paper will be subjected to a third valuation.
