CHENNAI: At a recently held carnatic music concert by vocalist SR Kishnamurthy at Rama Rao Kala Mantap, T Nagar, rasikas donated a car as a token of appreciation.SR Krishnamurthy, who hails from Coimbatore, doesn’t have hands and feet. Despite this, the singer has excelled in music. He is full of energy, enthusiasm and has successfully converted his weaknesses into his strength. He enthralled the audience with his remarkable performance. M Chandrasekhar, a renowned violinist accompanied the singer and Neyveli Venkatesh accompanied him on the mridangam.The programme was organised jointly by the Life Savers Club and Karnataka Sangha. M Narendra, Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Overseas Bank; C Sylendra Babu, IG of Police; Shankararaman, Director of Awara Seva Sangha also participated in the concert.At the end of the programme SR Krishnamurthy was presented a Maruti car. The convenor, P Narayana Bhat later briefed the press and told that CR Balakrishna Bhat of Hotel Rajbhavan, Chennai and Usha Fire Safety Equipment Pvt Ltd contributed to the major share of the donation and rest was mobilised by selling donation coupons.
